Harry Potter Moment of the week [36]

This is a meme hosted by Uncorked Thoughts. The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/ films/ J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! She is picking a topic within HP for us to focus on each week and then if anyone wants to take part feel free! All she asks is to link back to her blog :). There is now a full list of the topics to come here.

Where would you live as a witch/wizard? (With muggles, magical surrounding etc.)

Magic all day, every day. Who would want to live like the Dursleys when you can live like the Weasleys?

That part where Harry walks into the Burrow for the first time and sees the Weasley's clock that tracks where the members of the family are, and seeing household objects take care of chores for themselves really seals the deal. I would adore being surrounded by magic day in and day out. From the gnomes in the garden to the ghoul in the attic, I would take it all.

Would you choose living with Muggles or in a magical surrounding?

  1. I think I'd rather be surrounded with people like me, so if I were magic, I'd want to be around those people.

  2. Probably with Muggles so I could do all kind of weird things and no one would believe me when they asked how I did it and I said magic. Stopping by to say happy Blitz Day!

  3. THAT PART!! ^^ It is absolute perfection. I always feel just like Harry in those moments, just wanting to have grown up there and be a part of that wonderful family :D And being surrounded by magic day in and day out sounds like a dream come true to me too!

  4. I would have to say I'd want to live with other magical people. I think bringing up kids would be easier in that setting.

  6. I would definitely prefer to live in an all-wizarding village like Hogsmeade or Godric's Hollow or somewhere near one. Here's my bit:

  7. Magical surroundings would be awesome, but I think I would rather be amongst my friends, so I would stay with the muggles. Happy Blitz day - a bit like a little bit of magic for your blog.

  8. I loved the Burrow! The family clock was so awesome, and a house that can pretty much take care of itself thanks to magic is definitely fine by me! :D

Living in a wizarding society, yeah that's exactly where I'd want to be too!

  12. I think part of what makes it so special is that he grew up just like us, so those reactions would definitely be similar to how we would feel. I just love it :D

  13. Oh definitely! I didn't even think about wizarding children, but they would absolutely be giving themselves away if they were surrounded by muggles. Thanks so much for stopping by :D

  14. I agree. They had so many great magical objects that I wouldn't have even dreamed about. Seeing the Weasleys just blast about magic whenever they wanted to was a real treat. I understand how you could be conflicted though. Thanks so much for following :D

  16. I get that. I guess I would have to hope that my friends were magical too. I would definitely want to keep all the friends I have now though. They are pretty amazing. Thanks so much for stopping by :D

  17. Yes!! I agree. The clock I would want for sure. I wish I could have one made for my house. I also would definitely love a house that can clean itself. I'm in dire need of that :D

  18. I'm a city girl too. Or at least not too far out in the country anyway.

  19. Hmm, that's a tough one. Sure, there's the Weasley family, but there's also magic families like the Malfoys. Is my spouse magically inclined? That would be a big factor in my choice. If we were both magic, yeah, probably would move in to a magic neighborhood. But if it were only one of us, no, probably live among the muggles and just work at the book shop in the alley.

I'm the same as you! I would love the hustle and bustle of magic, and not to worry over who might see me do some weird stuff, breaking laws and such. It's not only safer but more homey and free to live like Weasleys :)

  21. Ummm, Magic, Obvi!!!! hehe. The magical world is just too fun to pass up.

  22. Yikes. I think I would have two homes, one in each world so I could experience both. I mean, how cool would it be to live in the muggle world and occasionally cause mischief. Laughing behind closed doors would be too fun.
