Harry Potter Moment of the Week [50]

This is a meme hosted by Uncorked Thoughts. The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/ films/ J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! She is picking a topic within HP for us to focus on each week and then if anyone wants to take part feel free! All she asks is to link back to her blog :). There is now a full list of the topics to come here.

Best Spot to Chill at Hogwarts

While I feel like I would be similar to Hermione in always running to the library, it doesn't really seem like a cozy place with Madam Pince shooting glances and worrying over the status of her books. As much as I love to read, I also enjoy spending time with those nearest and dearest to me. I feel like the Quidditch pitch would be nice for when you want to let loose, and let's face it if I was allowed to fly, I would be doing it often. Flying is not really 'chilling' though, so I would pick the Gryffindor Common Room for those nice, relaxing hang out sessions.

It's described as being circular with a bunch of squashy chairs to relax in along with a huge window to look out over the grounds. Plus, who could forget the large fireplace that Sirius used to contact Harry? It just has all the makings of cozy. I would absolutely love chilling there with the besties.

What would be your favorite spot to chill at Hogwarts?

  1. YES! The Gryffindor Common Room was always so vivid in my mind. It'd be an awesome place to chill with friends. :) Happy Thursday, Jaclyn. I hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

  2. LOL I talked about both the library and the Common Room this week too but I agree that the Common Room would probably be THE best place to just chill! All those huge comfy chairs combined with a roaring fire would make it THE best place ever ♥

I agree! Library is fun but Madam Pince is scary. The pitch would be awesome to blow off some steam and have fun, but for a lazy weekend I'd be totally up for the common room hangout :D The book scenes in the CR were amazing!

  4. I think I would like to hang out by the lake, at least while it was warm. Although, can you imagine a bonfire party at Hogwarts? That would be awesome.

  5. It's the same for me, it would've been the Hogwarts library hands down but...Madam Prince haha

The Gryffindor Common Room is a great choice! It would be so nice to snuggle up in one of those big chairs by the fireplace. Man, that would be an awesome place to hang out with friends. :D

  7. I love the Gryffindor common room. It sounds like the perfect place to unwind and hang out with your friends. I'd get so comfy, I'd hate to leave to go to class, lol!

  9. even though this doesn't classify as relaxing necessarily, I gotta go with the Great Hall--all that food they describe always makes me so hungry, and when I'm eating something amazing, I am relaxed ha :)

  10. I agree! I actually thought about that one, but it seems like they get limited time they are allowed to spend in there. I'd want the Great Hall though during the Christmas holidays or Halloween dinner because not everyone from the school was in there at the same time clamoring around. The food sounded great though, so it would be a fantastic place to sit and hang out.

  11. I agree. It seems like one of those things where you'd have 'your spot'. The automatic place you go to as long as no one else was sitting there. I can imagine all the groups of friends meeting at different places in the room and familiarity is comfort to me. Those winter months would make me want to stay firmly planted in front of that fireplace certainly!

  12. I agree! You can just snuggle up and read a book, or chat away with your friends. Sounds like a great place to me :D

  13. Right! She's creepy and way too worried about rules for the library to be any fun LOL

  14. That would be amazing! The lake would be a lot of fun, but like you, I've thought about those cold months. A bonfire would definitely help that out :D

  15. I agree. I felt like scenes in the common room were so real and vital ways to get to know the characters in more depth. They always seemed like they were enjoying themselves there and could let loose.

  16. I would absolutely want to spend a little time in all the places offered, and I feel like in the amount of years you are there that you'd get to experience everything pretty well. For hanging out though, that common room would just be the best place to relax. I want to go there now in fact ;)

  17. Oh yes the food, but those creatures he has would have me looking over my shoulder every second and looking like a paranoid mess. I'd want to hang out with him for sure, but I think I would chose another location.

  18. For me too :D It's so easy to imagine and want to put yourself in there. Things are going well. I hope you're having a fantastic week!
