Sidekick Saturday

Sidekick Saturday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted here by Jaclyn at JC's Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn't have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight
• Share a picture and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don't include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick

My Sidekick this week is:

Rue from The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

She is a 12 year old from District 11 who is overlooked as not being a threat. She is adept at keeping to the trees and is a fierce friend. She uses a whistle call to let the workers in the orchard know that the end of the day has come that has a four note melody.

I chose Rue because she stands out for me in this series even though she is not featured long. If you have read the books, you most likely know why she is such a star.

Who is your SkS?

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Sidekick Saturday post, or share your ‘sidekicks’ in a comment here (if you don’t have a blog). Thanks!

I love comments and read every one of them! Since they are an award in themselves, this is an award-free blog. Thank you though for the consideration!
