Teaser Tuesdays [6]

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read
Open to a random page
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title and author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I am reading 2 books right now because I am trying to re-read all of The Hollows before Ever After comes out on the 22nd. So here are my two teases:

Hidden Gates (The P.J. Stone Gates Trilogy #1) by D.T. Dyllin

Teaser:

"Most Seers my age had at least gotten some small premonitions. Me - not even a blip on my premonition radar. Maybe I was some weird Seer anomaly that was born without powers. If that were the case...well, at least my dating worries would be over. Hooray?"

Goodreads Summary:

For P.J. Stone, being a “Seer” who has never seen anything is less than fun. And P.J. isn’t known for her patience.

To make matters worse, she must choose a suitable mate to continue the Seer bloodline. Duty always comes before her heart…at least that’s what her parents taught her. When she finds herself wanting someone who is considered off-limits, P.J. is forced to question everything she believes.

As if navigating her love life isn’t complicated enough, P.J. finally receives a vision—of a threat to her world that only she can perceive. But no one will believe a fledgling Seer’s warnings. With nowhere else to turn, she may decide to trust a stranger with her life, her world, and maybe even her heart.

The Good, the Bad, and the Undead (Hollows #2) by Kim Harrison

Teaser:

"Jenks' wings made a harsh clatter as he rose from my mother's shoulder. 'Aw, lighten up witch. We've already got past the naked baby pictures.'"

Goodreads Summary:

It's a tough life for witch Rachel Morgan, sexy, independent bounty hunter, prowling the darkest shadows of downtown Cincinnati for criminal creatures of the night.

She can handle the leather-clad vamps and even tangle with a cunning demon or two. But a serial killer who feeds on the experts in the most dangerous kind of black magic is definitely pressing the limits.

Confronting an ancient, implacable evil is more than just child's play - and this time, Rachel will be lucky to escape with her very soul

  25. I know, I'm not sure if I would be relieved or upset if I was the seer. Jenks is a pixie :) and a hilarious one at that. I really appreciate you stopping by!

I love comments and read every one of them! Since they are an award in themselves, this is an award-free blog. Thank you though for the consideration!
