Question: What is your preferred reading format? Hardcover, eBooks, paperback etc?
I really like paperbacks over hardcovers because they're easier to hold in one hand to read. I do buy e-books more often than anything now. It saves me space in my house since I already have 6 bookcases full of books and it's easier for me to carry all my books everywhere in one convenient package. I'm not one of those people that collect the same kind of book for every title. In some series, I have some paperbacks, hardcovers, and e-books for the same series.
It all depends on what I was in the mood for when the book came out. E-books are so much easier for reviewing though because I take a lot of notes with paperbacks and hardcovers, and in my e-books I can just highlight, highlight, highlight. Though I will say that if the book has a gorgeous cover, I usually want a paperback to put on my shelf so I can see it more often.
I never thought about collecting the same form of book if I love a series. I might do that I think, though I love whatever way I can get my hands on a great read! I will say if the ebook price is close to the paper price, I go for paper. I can't wait to venture into paper with my own books.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you'd want a lighter copy when you walk and read!
I use to be all about the paperback but I find myself liking ebooks better now. I have a light on my kindle so I can read in darker places which I love.
ReplyDeleteYou certainly are right about the space. Paperbacks definitely take up more room than ebooks. But even so, I'm about half and half.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday:)

I'm all for e-books now as well! It's so easy to have all my books with me at all times, and my kindle is lighter than even a paperback! There is also that little thing called instant gratification :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my FF post for this week.
Have a fantastic Friday Jaclyn! See you tomorrow.
I've only bought books in real format and ebook when I started with the ebook and then had the chance to get the real book free, cheap, or at an author signing! But I still prefer me a real book!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Follow Friday
Have a GREAT weekend!
Old Follower :)
I get ebooks a lot from publishers, but don't want to give up hardcover and paperback because of the beautiful covers

Yes, ebooks definitely make taking notes and highlighting easier! ;) I read mostly ebook format nowadays. It's so portable, saves space AND I can make the font larger. (very important for these eyes) But nothing beats the experience of sitting down with a physical book in hand to read...
ReplyDeleteI love being able to highlight and make notes in eBooks, and the "find" option. New follower on bloglovin!
ReplyDeleteI'd have to disagree. I love hardcovers the best, but I see the convenience in paperbacks and ebooks. Great bog!

It really is hard to stop that urge! Thank you so much for stopping by :D
ReplyDeleteI see a lot of bloggers that want to have all hardcovers or all paperbacks in a series, but it's never been a big deal to me. I can't wait until you have some paperbacks available either! Yeah, you know I need the lighter books for walking around with them :D Thank you so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteYes that light makes it so much better! I have one with the light and then one that is really easy to read in the bright sun with no glare so I enjoy them both. Thank you so much for stopping by :D
ReplyDeleteYou're right! I completely forgot about the instant gratification aspect of it. Thank you so much for stopping by :D See you tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI think it's pretty great how we each have our own reasons for preferring a different format. I do love signed books for sure! Have to have the real book for the signature. Thank you so much for stopping by :D
ReplyDeleteI've had a few of the netgalley's expire, but I've been pretty good about getting to them. I love print books too, but it's much easier for my note-taking to have the ebooks :D Thank you so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteYes those covers can definitely sway me into buying the hardcovers or paperbacks over the ebooks! Thank you so much for stopping by :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by and following :D
ReplyDeleteLOL I completely forgot about the font size, but I was just telling my mom that she should get a Kindle for that reason because she was griping about not being able to read the text in books but she wants something to do to fill up her time. Thank you so much for stopping by :D Hope you have an excellent weekend!
ReplyDeleteI do search in my e-books a lot as well. Thank you so much for stopping by and following :D

ReplyDeleteI need to see if my old kindle I have has a highlight feature and how that works. I hear great things about it.
ReplyDeleteHere is my FF.
Hopping through. i have way too many physical books all over my house. But I can't help picking up more and more :-0
ReplyDeleteMy Hop
I only buy print books. I usually get ebooks on netgalley but they tend to expire because I never seem to feel motivated to read them. Its rarely that I do read a ebook.
ReplyDeleteGood answer. Happy weekend :)
