Which Death Eater would you be?

Truth is, I wouldn't want to be any of the Death Eaters.

Bellatrix Lestrange is certifiably insane and hungry for blood.
Lucius Malfoy thinks he's better than everyone else, but in actuality is a coward.
Peter Pettigrew is a no-spine-having coward that betrays those closest to him.
Fenrir Greyback viciously attacks children, turning them to werewolves.

The list goes on and on, but what they all appear to have in common is:
1) no regard for other's lives
2) putting themselves before anyone else
3) cowardliness

There are 2 among the Death Eaters that have exceptionally good qualities. Snape works on the side of good, deep uncover with the Death Eaters and Voldemort. I do not envy his life at all so I would not want it. He is constantly living a lie and only one man really knows him. All the good people accuse him of being bad and all the bad accuse him of not being bad enough. He continuously saved Harry and kept that up even to his last breath. He was so full of bitterness and resentment though for living this life and never getting the love and child that he wanted for himself. So while he is my favorite Death Eater, I wouldn't really want to be him at all.

Regulus Black on the other hand learned later what Voldemort was planning and did what he could to act against him. He turned to the side of good at the end and tried to help in a way that he could with the locket. However, he is dead.

So if I had to choose one, I'd either be Snape or Black.

  1. I don't know, Bellatrix is pretty awesome.

  2. I said the same, I wouldn't want to be a Death Eater in any case. They're all vile and did some completely unforgivable things. And as much as I love Helena Bonham Carter and her performance as Bella is ingenious, she made Bella more likeable than she actually is in the books so she's out too. I totally approve of your two picks though^^ both Snape and Regulus are the only redeemable Death Eater in my books too. But, Snape was still too nasty in his day to day life for my liking. Although I do admire the sacrifices he made day to day O.O

  3. Snape for me too :) Who doesn't love good old Severus?

  4. I'd have to go with Regulus. Switching out the Horcrux took a lot of guts and ended up costing him his life, but at least he no longer wanted to follow someone who was so thoroughly evil.

  5. Helena Bonham Carter made her character fantastic!! I just can't picture truly being that evil and self-subservient to old Voldy. I'm not a good follower lol

  6. I agree that Helena did an amazing job as Beletrix...she is one of my favorite villains. I completely understand why you'd consider Snape too nasty in daily life. I feel like I would probably be eaten up with resentment too if I was in his shoes, though I would have to hope that I'd handle Harry better.

  7. Right! They're mostly deranged and full of malice.

  9. I agree. I'm glad that Sirius' brother was someone we could end up cheering for.
