I was so thrown aback. Everything in the series is about good vs. evil and how good should triumph. It's about loving people no matter what, never giving up, and sacrifice for the greater good. I believe more people are understanding that now though. Zane's play was fantastic! I think I have a little actor on my hands. He got a 100 on his science fair project, but didn't place...though he's happy he got a good grade. Right now we are cleaning the house and buying groceries gearing up for cooking Thanksgiving meal with family coming in. I hope you are doing great!!Jaclyn Canadahttp://jcbookhaven.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3080059027932862967.post-35952638067932682292014-11-24T11:05:21.526-06:002014-11-24T11:05:21.526-06:00Right! One of my favorite parts of the last book is when McGonagall brings the knights to life to defend the castle. The dragons were also one of my favorites. I've always loved reading anything about dragons. Visiting a castle is on my bucket list so reading this series really brought all these to life for a bit for me which I loved.Jaclyn Canadahttp://jcbookhaven.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3080059027932862967.post-54643220150647279782014-11-24T11:03:13.085-06:002014-11-24T11:03:13.085-06:00I believe it's just one person's opinions ...I believe it's just one person's opinions of those things down on paper for others to peruse and use as food for thought. Most of the ideas, I had myself at one time or another and others I had never really thought about while reading the series. I really enjoyed the themes...and I may send the link to my brother. He didn't let his kids read HP (for religious reasons) and I kept trying to tell him it was really Good vs Evil. *sigh* I hadn't thought about medievalism as a motif - of course, I wasn't analyzing the books for a class, so... Thanks for sharing this! I'm definitely going to pass it along to my kiddos. :) I hope you've had a great week! How was Zane's musical? And his science fair presentation? Do y'all get to slow down a bit now? Happy Friday!Bookworm Brandeenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3080059027932862967.post-52815646343547497902014-11-21T08:11:26.356-06:002014-11-21T08:11:26.356-06:00I never really thought about how exactly opposite ...I never really thought about how exactly opposite they really are because in the fifth book their similarities are brought up so much. They aren't really similarities though when it boils down...just because you're an orphan and speak parsel tongue...those aren't really life choices or personality traits so I never really delved into it like they do. The Middle Ages are my favorite historical period, and I never really thought about how they were incorporated into the HP world- castles, dragons, etc. Just another reason why I love this series so much. ANd the themes they bring up really are the most prevalent ones: good vs evil, choices, death and coming of age. They highlight all the stuff I adore about Harry: his ability to love and care despite his childhood, and his tendency to help the weak...Thanks so much for sharing this Jaclyn ^^Michelinehttp://www.lunar-rainbows.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3080059027932862967.post-19869137996014980462014-11-20T05:13:58.112-06:002014-11-20T05:13:58.112-06:00I will check it out.I will check it out.Jennifer Bielmanhttp://badbirdreads.com/noreply@blogger.com
