This weeks Question:

Back to school. Create a reading list for the imaginary English Lit class you’ll be teaching this semester.

I think it's pretty important to have some classics in English Lit, and it's probably the only reason I ever read and enjoyed some of them. I also really like the idea of having some nice fresh new books added to the mix so my list will be a bit of both.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

What would your list be?

  1. I enjoyed The Scarlet Letter when I read it, although it wasn't assigned back to us. I'm not sure though if others would enjoy it as well! But if these are the books you're going to assign, I think your students would love you! :p

  9. I have no idea! I was rarely happy with the assigned books in school, except for The Canterbury Tales and I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. I think I'd have a great time in your class.
