Sidekick Saturday [10]

Sidekick Saturday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted here by Jaclyn at JC's Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn't have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight that fits in this week's type
• Share a picture and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don't include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick
• Put your link in the Linky thing and comment

This week's sidekick type is - Bubbly:

My choice is Dee Black from The Lux Series by Jennifer Armentrout

Kristin Kreuk reminds me of Dee:

According to Katy, Dee isn't bubbly, she is just really alive. For all intents and purposes though, she fits for this post. She is Daemon's sister and immediately befriends Katy when she meets her neighbor even going as far as helping her plant her garden. She pulls this book blogger out of her house where she would happily live inside her books and actually gets her involved in school dances and dressing up and socializing with other people.

Quotes:

“I didn't tell you this because I'm sure you would've changed your mind about the dress."
"What?" I frowned. "Does it make my butt look big?"
She laughed. "No. You looked stunning in it."
"Then what's the deal?"
Her smile turned downright mischievous. "Oh, you know, just that the color red is Daemon's favorite.”

“Daemon!" Dee called from the kitchen. "I need your help!"
"We should go see what she's doing before she destroys your kitchen." He rubbed his hands down his face. "It's possible.”

Dee arched a perfectly groomed brow. "Yeah, he was gone all day Sunday. And so were you. And while he was gone, a certain someone came looking for him."

"I can't believe you ate all the ice cream, Daemon!"
I cringed and stopped inside the dining room. There was no way I was going into the kitchen.
"I didn't eat all of it."
"Oh, so, it ate itself?" Dee shrieked so loudly I thought I heard the rafters in the ceiling shake. "Did the spoon eat it? Oh wait, I know. The carton ate it."
"Actually, I think the freezer ate it," Daemon responded dryly. I grinned when I heard what sounded like the empty container hitting what suspiciously sounded like flesh.

OK so just reading these quotes makes me want to pick up Obsidian LIKE NOW. Dee sounds seriously awesome, and like a fabulous friend. I mean, you know a person is a great person when they drag you out when you've been reading for too long. ;) And those quotes just made me laugh SO HARD. So I'm going to be grabbing a copy of Obsidian from the library when I go on Monday.

Thanks so much for this lovely post! <3

  2. Dee is a perfect bubbly choice, though not so much in the last book. I love the actress you chose. She is so pretty. And those quotes. hehe.

  6. I still haven't started reading these books. Maybe if I read a book a day I'd have time for all the extra books I want to read lol

I love comments and read every one of them! Since they are an award in themselves, this is an award-free blog. Thank you though for the consideration!
