I was forced to read pride and predjuidice when I was in high school and I could not get into it. I think the big thing is ...I completely understand. I think the big thing is going into it knowing what to expect and not really having high hopes for a knock-your-socks-off read. If you see it for free or at your local library and are feeling in the mood for some gory-humor fun then you might wanna try it out. <br /><br />I'm so glad you like the Knightley one too. Most everyone I've heard prefers the Colin Firth one, but I've never seen it. I LOVE Austen but read this as I just had to see what all the fuss was about when it was first released. I had the same hangup as you - while reading I kept saying to myself "Elizabeth would never do that", etc. In the beginning I'd thought Grahame-Smith did a pretty good job keeping his additions in line with the characters, but in the end, he'd strayed too far for me. <br /><br /><br />I am ever so happy to hear Pride & Prejudice is your favorite (only) classic.
